Tasks
1- To deliver cost savings of at least 10% on budgeted purchases, with a target achievement of 15%.
2- To provide technical advice to all users to ensure the most competitive deals from a technical and commercial perspective are achieved. To ensure best Procurement/Purchasing practices are available to support Batelco’s business effectively and efficiently.
3- To develop, maintain and monitor the Procurement/Purchasing policies and procedures ensuring that they are comply fully with ISO 9002 standards , that they are adequately implemented, and that the end users are fully aware of the procurement processes.
4- To identify potential problems within Contracts & purchasing activities via effective management of suppliers, and to recommend and execute solutions for the potential problems.
5- To ensure customer and supplier relationships are efficiently and effectively managed to enhance customer satisfaction, and to ensure continuity of provision of quality products in a timely manner and cost effective manner.
6- To engage with the Legal department on all legal issues affecting contracts, purchasing & supply, and to ensure that formal contracts and purchasing documents are in line with the professional and legal requirements to protect the Company’s legal and contractual rights at all times, and to provide the required level of confidentiality so as to maintain a quality image of Batelco both externally and internally.
7- To meet the KPI’s for procurement & Logistics activities and objectives and to ensure that the performance is inline with these targets.
8- To ensure Batelco’s business requirements are fulfilled from reliable sources by effective supplier selection and management.
9- To manage supplier relationship, assuming the leading role in contracts negotiations and to act as an ambassador of the Company with other companies (mainly suppliers/contractors).
10- Ensure that all contracts and purchases adhere to the relevant legal and financial requirements, so as to avoid undue delays, interruption of service, legal exposure and financial losses.
Requirements
University degree holder
Fluent in written and spoken English
One (1) year experience in purchasing and supply, inclusive of complex contracts production.
Sound knowledge of international trade and commerce, market structure and contract law.
